Final 3rd year at Uni

So here it is, my final year at University.

3 Modules this year:

  1. Research Project
  2. Client
  3. Context 3
Research Project
My area of research will be analysing what factors a filmmaker has to consider when producing stereoscopic 3D productions opposed to 2D.

The module will be divided into 3 sections.
  • (1st term) Research essay - I'll look at books, online journals, websites, and more to gain a good understanding in my chosen field
  • (2nd term) Artefacts - Practice led research. 5 different artects will be conducted to test the subject area, each artefact's results will be analysed and used to progress onto the proceeding artefact.
  • (3rd term) Viva Voce presentation - A 20 minute presentation to summarise my research.
Client
2 sections to module
  • (1st term) Internal client - The choice of 3 briefs to help promote the work of NTU Advanced Textile Research Group (ATRG)
  • (2nd term) External client - I'll be required to find a client externally from the University. If I'm unable to this, I'll be expected to accept a default client from my project supervisor or to enter a competetion of national/international repute
Context 3
Two sections to module
  • StartUP Factory essay - I'll be required to devise and model either a new company (entrepreneur)  or new products or services for an existing company (intrapreneur)
  • Exhibition Package - To create 5 images that will be displayed in the end of year multimedia catalogue  and exhibition. Devise a 50 word catalogue entry to promote myself. Finally, a 1000 word rationale behind my chosen images and text.

Round Two

Hello and welcome to my second year of a Multimedia blog. This year I'll be concentrating primarily on Moving image and if I have any spare time, I'm going to have a dabble at interactive space. There's a couple reasons I opted to specialise in Moving image, firstly, I wouldn't want to spend all day and everyday sitting behind a computer. I enjoy going out to locations, filming and generally being active as well as the editing stage. Another reason is that moving image is the pathway that first introduced me to multimedia while studying my a levels, I feel my skills are best for this over the other two.

Producer
Afer being assigned the role of producer I therefore need to research the specific roles and intentions of one.
A Film producer oversees and manages the stages throughout the development of a film production. They will often organise the budget while many of the times taking their own financial risk in the funding.

A producer is actively involved with each major stage of production giving their preferred opinion, whether it is their original idea or an adaptation of someone elses, ie. scriptwriter, screenwriter
